I love Boerne Lake

It is so peaceful out on the water. Very quiet and not a care in the world. George, Candace and I headed out late Friday after work. We got on the water and it was a little windy. We started our way back up the creek and as soon as we turned the corner... Silence and complete stillness. Candace and I always stay close and talk about whatever and George goes off by himself and catches a million fish(every time!). This trip was no different. I kept talking about how my swimsuit just doesn't "hold em" and so Candace gave me a lesson on my swimsuit. Apparently, I have been wearing it all wrong for years. I guess those silly pads do serve a purpose. Man, what a difference a couple adjustments can make. I commented the rest of the night on how perfect my swimsuit fit! The fishing wasn't great. Freshwater fishing is a lot harder for me. There is an art to it and I just haven't got it down yet but I think if I keep hanging out with George and Candace they will learn me a thing or two. So as we paddled back the lake was like glass. It was so perfect. I tried to take a picture but it didn't turn out. Now I am ready for a nice relaxing weekend! I will post later when I get the pics from our trip to Landa Park. The boys went back to their mom's house today so it will be a little quiet around here.

The "cool" beach trip!!

That is right. The beach house has A/C. It is wonderful. Bill got us a large unit for the coast house and it pumps out some serious cold air. We want to go there every weekend now. Even our friends Angie and Gary might enjoy it now. :) Anyway... the fishing was pretty good this weekend. We went out on Saturday morning with John and Lisa. We found a new channel and tried it out. I had a great day but am not the best fisher woman. I let two BIG ones get away. Candace needs to reteach her buddy. It was a lot of fun. Then we left and headed for the beach. The water was awesome. I found the Black and White setting on my new camera and I went to town. I love black and white. The water was perfect and the waves were pretty calm. I was able to take Gavin out in the deep waters. He had a blast. Here are some of my favorites..
The biggest story of the weekend is that I almost hit an $80,000 boat!! I didn't meanna!! It was so scary... Good news. I saved the day and hit reverse just in time.

Inflatable Fun!!

Last but not least we went to a neighbor's birthday party. It was a water party where they brought in these huge inflatable water slides. Roy played for hours on the inflatable slip in slide.
Gavin and Jillian were a little shy at this party.
Bill got crazy with the neighbor and joined in on the fun.
We did get Jillian to slide down the big slide. I almost landed in the water trying to catch her.

Chuck-E-Cheese

I've been bugging my sister for months to let me take Jillian by myself to do stuff with her. You know a little Mashure--Jillian time. Well it finally happened. We took her and spoiled her rotten. I loved every minute of it. She wasn't timid at all. She got in there and started riding the little cars. She would slide on the slide and ran her Aunt Mashure all over that place. She and Gavin would take turns on each machine.
I decided to teach Jillian exactly how the machine works. I told her that you have to have a token and then it starts to go. She thought that was the coolest part.
Here she is trying to figure it out..
Then came Skee Ball. The little ones loved it but they just couldn't roll the ball all the way up there SO....... they took matters into their own hands. Yeah, I let them crawl up there and throw it in the hole. They loved it.

Jillian wanted to go with Roy on the ceiling tunnels. She was so small she couldn't even
lift herself up but Roy (being the great cousin that he is) helped her and took her all over the place. She ate it up. I couldn't believe that she was brave enough to go up there. She must have gone up there about 10 times.

She's Baaaack!!!

This would be my favorite world traveler Candace. So she left us for a whole month. I think we all had major withdrawals from her. I missed my daily phone call just to see how my day had been. I missed going fishing and the look on her face when I pulled in a keeper! I missed hearing all her entertaining stories about her and Georg-E. I am so glad that she is home. The bible study group met at EZ's for dinner and surprised her. We got to hear all her stories from her trip to South America. She had such a blast. Then we went back to her apartment and she gave me a beautiful South American cross. I loved it. Now I just got to get the floors done so I can find a place to hang it.

Lost Pines... Day 2

We headed over from our hotel to the resort and met everyone by the pool. We sat talking with Uncle John for awhile until the heat became extreme. So we were headed for the pool and I ask John to watch our stuff and he says "No" and I am like okay well you want to swim and he says "Well yeah". (Mind you he NEVER gets in the water. So off we went...

Bill assisting Uncle John.
And he is in... Well for one time around. He got out the very next turn.
The girls sat and made bracelets that Aunt Kelly brought. The kids were having a blast.
Finally, it has been Bill's dream to take Uncle John kayaking. We loaded up the six kayaks and took 6 people down the Colorado River. I forgot two of the paddles so I was tied to Bill. Uncle John pulled Aunt Beverly and Brandon and Kristi were on their own. Off we went. It was beautiful. There were no houses in site. It was a long relaxing three hours down the Colorado. We didn't catch any fish but had lots of fun.

Lost Pines... Day 1

We went for Bill's family reunion to the Hyatt at Lost Pines. It is a very shi shi ha ha place and so Bill and I decided to go but spend the night at the local Days Inn and then meet up with the group. Boy was that the best idea ever!! Lost Pines was wonderful. It was so gorgeous and relaxing. We got there on Friday night and found the group and began to sit around and catch up.
The we loaded up on sunscreen and hit the lazy river. It takes about 15 minutes to go around the whole thing. I think we went around about 30 times. We sat and talked to Bill's cousins til they kicked us out of the park. We just kept talking and lost track of the time. It was so nice to talk and catch up with Jimmy and Kim.
Uncle John is Bill's favorite. At any chance we get we run up to Dallas and spend time with him. He has been a father figure to Bill for sometime now and John thinks of Bill as the son he never had. They are exactly alike. They love to fish and tinker with anything they can get their hands on. We planned to spend lots of time with him on Saturday.

...I graduated from high school. This weekend is the ole' reunion. Some of my friends decided to kick off the festivities with our own backyard barbecue. We cooked burgers, talked and laughed at old pictures. We realized just how skinny we were back then. And we also drank some beer. Oh my gosh the group definitely has still got it. Here are some pictures of the old gang. We did take some of the whole group but I am having major camera difficulties and so they all came out blurry. So I am waiting for others to send over the good pictures. Even the husbands and boyfriends found a way to have a good time. Even though none of them were around ten years ago, I think they could see all of the great friendships that came from high school.

Fireworks...

Most people spend the 4Th outside with a beer in hand. Not us... Bill and I began the fun project of the floors. We spent most of the day ripping up carpet and trying to clean up what was underneath. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! It is disgusting what we found.
I have been an anti carpet person almost all of my life. I have always said I never want to live in a house with carpet. So we got the carpet removed and began to clean the concrete. It is a very big task and creates aches in my body. But I hope in the end it will be worth it. Now, we didn't want to completely miss the celebration of the birth of our country so we met Angie, Gary, James, Tyler, and George for wings. We then headed to see the fireworks at Fiesta Texas. We decided to try and get in at one of the apartments that we do work for but what we didn't know was they had police there guarding the gates. Luckily, Bill gave a great story and got us past the guard. VICTORY!!! We found perfect seats on the hill looking right into Fiesta Texas. We all agreed it was an awesome show. My camera struggled on the pictures but I did manage to get one with my buddy Angie.
