So my dad is a huge baseball fan. Did I mention my dad is a HUGE Astros fan? Although we have never discussed it, I am absolutely positive he has longed for his grandsons to play baseball. Roy plays basketball, golf and soccer so I thought what should I do with Gavin to give him a little taste of sports....... BASEBALL!!! I signed him up for the early bird special back in January and made the mistake of telling Gavin that he was going to play baseball on a team like Roy does. Since the day I told him he has been asking when is he going to play. So finally three months later he is suited up and playing his heart out.

I think my favorite part is the gear. He just looks adorable. I love him. Since January we have been practicing hitting and catching. He has gotten a lot better since the beginning. I wanted to make sure he wasn't the kid who is playing in the dirt like the one in the background of this picture. :)

I also started by tossing the ball and having him swing at it. This caused him a little agony because he does not like to hit off the tee. He would rather someone pitch to him. But he has got it down now and actually hits the ball very well.

Bill has jumped in and decided to coach. I think it has been a great thing for him to be involved with Gavin. They seem to have so much fun out there. Both boys come home pooped from the practices and games.

I kept questioning whether Gavin was going to like baseball just because I threw it on him but when he runs to first base this is what he looks like. I have no doubt in my mind that I made the right selection for him. Such a ham.
