Record up to FOUR shows with 1 DVR!

This is my new love for TV. I was not really that into TV growing up. I never had time. My parents kept me completely busy. Now, I have a little more time on my hands but I am still not sold on TV. But with ATT Uverse I can record shows and play them back when I have time. Plus, I don't have to sit there as long because I can fast forward through commercials. It is music to my ears.

Favorite shows currently recorded:
Biggest Loser 9
Deadliest Catch
Army Wives
Kendra
Glee
American Idol
Bill & Giuliani
Tori & Dean

I am a reality show kind of girl. Love them all even if some are a little over the top. My DVR allows me to keep up with all my wonderful chores at the house. It also allows me to have play time with the kids when they are there. Then on the nights they aren't there my shows can keep me occupied.

Can't wait... Picking up the kids in T-2 hours for a fun filled weekend. YAY!!

Weekend Update

Saturday was filled with lots of sports. Roy had a soccer game in the morning. He played in the goal the entire game. He seems to like it although for me I need more action. They did pretty good despite the field a muddy mess. The score ended in a tie 2-2. Then Bill and I did some shopping for me... no I mean Bill. We looked for him some new shoes and he wants a motor thing for his boat. (Sigh) Then Roy had his second bball game. He did great once again. He seemed a little tired this game and not exactly on but managed to do great. He had about 10 points and they won their game. Then we went to the In-Laws for dinner and visited with a cousin that was in town. Everything seemed to go well.

This morning I met Ash at church because I wanted to try out a different service. It was ok but still not exactly what I am looking for. I am really struggling right now with where I am suppose to call home for my church. It is something that is very important to me and since it is in limbo it is weighing heavy on my heart. I hope the right place will show up like the Vegas sky line. The past two days here in TX have been amazing. Beautiful skies. I just have to be outdoors enjoying myself. I have been wanting to work out so bad but have no one to be my motivator. So who else do I turn to than my sister. She is always up for anything and always has my back. So we are going to meet up and work out.

Today was perfect. The kids went down for a nap and Grammie and Poppy stayed out the house so we could do our thing. We did a simple walk/run mile. The went to the backyard and did a small interval workout. 10 push ups, run with a potting soil bag over our head to the fence, 10- jump ups, run back with a potting soil bag over our head to the tree, 10- lunges, 20- sit ups. Repeating starting at the 10 push ups. I know it is hard to follow but I had to tell y'all about it because I was so happy and excited for Ash and I. THEN Ash says lets do the whole thing again from the beginning. So off we went. It took us about an hour. PERFECT!! Now we just have to meet again and keep this up.

Living Vicariously

The day finally came for Roy's first basketball game. I have been anticipating this moment since Bill and I got married. I wanted to influence Roy to have a love for basketball. Since I am no longer involved in the game, my heart bleeds for basketball. I have so many thoughts on the game and I can't help but want to influence kids to find a love for the game the way I did and still do. Roy started showing a MAJOR interest in bball a few months ago. He kept asking to go in the backyard and play horse. Over spring break, we decided to move the goal to the front and we have never looked back. He and the neighborhood kids are there almost everyday.

His second favorite love is his friend Sean. We met his mother and she talked about a team that Sean was going to play on. I quickly went to the website and signed Roy up and placed him on Sean's team. It was a WIN WIN situation.

So we went out Saturday before his game and bought him some new sneakers. He has also found a love for my childhood idol Micheal Jordan. Now I recently quit liking Jordan because of his marriage problems and also for the speech he gave at the Hall of Fame ceremony. I thought he had a lot of anger. He always spoke well in interviews and I felt like he was a good man off the court too. I have since changed my opinion of him but nevertheless Roy is into him. His first pair of sneakers, Jordans!

So we headed to the gym and the game began. Roy played extremely well. He is well ahead of the other kids which I would like to think has to do with his efforts out in the front. I also would like to think Coach Summer had effects too. :) I was also concerned that at times Roy can be a ball hog and a little show boat. He was neither. He seemed to find a balance in it all.

Their team won 20-16. Roy made three lay-ups and two shots from the outside. He played great defense and stole the ball a few times which led to his lay-ups. He even blocked a shot. I screamed the whole game. I felt invigorated. I am back in the atmosphere where I feel most comfortable even if it is now as a supportive parent. He is #3 playing defence at the top of the picture.
He is the point guard. Hmmm... who else played that role.
Finally, Grammie, Poppy, Uncle Bryan, Aunt Ashley, Jillian and Rocco made an appearance. There wasn't too many games that my parents ever missed. For whatever reason basketball just runs in our blood.
Even Rocco got in on the action. He kept trying to run out on the court to steal the ball. I am already working on him too.

Roy's Art

So we went to Roy's Young Masters artwork show last night. It was so awesome I saw one of the girls who was on my basketball team in high school. We did some talking and her and her husband go to Corpus all the time to fish too. We exchanged numbers so hopefully we will hang out with them soon. Finally, we got to Roy's work. He was so upset that I made his pose by his work. I know they fight me now but secretly, they LOVE the attention. He was looking around to make sure no one was watching and then he squatted down and this is the look I got. He used pastels. I think these are bluebonnets on the right. It was a Texas themed picture.
Gavin is never far behind his brother and he definitely loves to take my camera and snap pictures. When I grabbed it back I had to snap a picture of this face.
Group picture.... they love me I swear!

Sandfest 2010

We headed down to Port A because Sandfest was taking over the island. We had such a fun time last year that we had to go back. We got there on Friday and picked up mom and dad to head out on the boat. We went to our regular spot but had very little luck. Mom and Dad threw out a few cast but no one was catching. I had seen people stop at this spot on the other side so we decided to go try it out for ourselves. We ended up tying up to this post. We didn't think we were doing anything wrong and we began to fish. Mom was super cold so she buried herself down in the bottom of the boat. We had just got settled in when......
the Game Warden boat comes strolling up. They yell to us to reel in. WHAT!?! I was so nervous. They then ask us for our licenses. (Bill and I both thought dad didn't have one but luckily he did.) So then Bill and I start digging for ours. I find mine right away and Bill began scrambling through his wallet for his. Finally, he found it! Then they checked the life vests. They checked the sizes. Luckily, we hadn't accidentally grabbed one of the boys. They then became really nice since they figured we were no threat. We talked some fishing talk and then I was happy to see them drive away.
Once they left I landed a nice 16.5 sheep head. It was a fun fight but I let him live. I am in the catch and release program this year. We kept a lot last year and Bill and I never ate it so this year I'm letting them go. Plus, I figure the less I keep the higher the chance that I will catch more fish.
That night Ash and the kids came down too. We headed out early to the beach to check things out. The one that made me laugh was these two guys. This was there spin off on the Tiger W@@ds scandal. The back said "One Hole Too Many". The front had Tiger's foot caught in a mouse trap. LOL!
I absolutely love the castles!
And the beautiful mermaid.
All in all we had a great time. We met up with some family friends and had dinner with them at the house. We hadn't seen them in awhile so we were able to catch up.
On Sunday we headed back to try and beat the traffic. Our plans were halted when we got behind this house. It took forever to get the house over the narrow bridge. Not sure who the foreman was on that job but definitely wasn't thinking about all the traffic going home from Sandfest.
We are now at home watching the Masters.

Roy's 4th grade Show

Roy had his end of the year show last night. Before the show they had the PTA election meeting. It took 45 minutes. The ladies running for office take it so seriously. They had speeches prepared and explained why they were the right person for the job. Finally, Roy came out in this cute little cowboy hat. He was so embarrassed. He kept looking over at us and smiling. He had his very own speaking part. He had to get up and turn on the microphone. He began talking about Texas dancing and our Texas flair. He remembered all of his lines and spoke very well. Please excuse the bald man's head in the picture. :)He also had a part where he had to dance with all the boys in his class. He is the tall one in the middle. I have a feeling he is following in his 6'5" dad's footsteps. This last picture to me caught his expressions perfect. This was him the whole show. A half grin that seems a little shy but proud to be a part of the group.

Easter 2010

The boys came in around 7:15am. A bit early by our standards but we slowly got up and joined them as they hunted for their easter baskets. Gavin found Roy's basket on top of the fridge and Gavin found his own inside the curtains. That silly rabbit! The boys got lots of goodies in their baskets. They got new crocs that they wore for the Easter egg hunt out back.Gavin was first out the door but Roy was not too far behind. We met my family at church and then headed to a beautiful bluebonnet patch. The boys looked so handsome.
Jillian joined in for the fun. We took a family picture pre-marriage. (And Jillian too!) Finally we had the men take a quick shot. Ash and I didn't plan it but we dressed our guys in pink! They are so proud. Grammie gave the kiddos each an Easter basket. She made Gavin a pair of Spurs shorts. They turned out just fabulous.
Gavin loved his new clothes and had to immediately try them on. I think he sent the Spurs some good MO JO because they beat the Lakers today!!!
We had GiGi and PaPa and Aunt Sherry over for lunch. GG is in the middle and she is 92 years old. You can't even tell. She is still going like she is 50.
Finally, the food was awesome. Mom made her famous banana pudding. Don't be jealous guys!

April Fooled The Husband!!

Let me give you a little background....

Bill, as most of you know, is a tinkerer. Most of you know Bill can fix anything. Any project can be conquered by him. Our friend John is next in line so when you put them together every project is done by them. I am constantly asking them to fix this and what about this project. For the most part it is a complete PRO to my husband.

Now, yesterday he had to be put to the test. This week was extremely busy so we were headed home around 5 to sit and do NOTHING when the neighbor's car wouldn't start. Bill got our car over there and jumped it and sent them on their way. 1 for 1. Then Ash calls and Bryan's car wouldn't start so we headed over to their house. He worked on it for about an hour with no luck. His conclusion is a fuel pump or something along those lines. We had it towed so we will see what happens. 1 for 2. Then we stumbled upon their dead mower. Bill jumped into action again and almost got it started. 1 for 3. On our way home, Bill was feeling a little beat up over his 1 for 3 day but I explained how awesome he is and how impressed I am that he can fix almost anything. We got home and went straight to bed!

I woke up this morning around 7 and picked up my phone and just happen to see that today was April 1st. I began brainstorming a simple prank to get my hubby. We was still sleeping so I was trying to think of something good. THEN IT CAME TO ME!!! I got all ready to go and was ready to leave when he woke up and jumped in the shower. I walk outside and pretended to start my car and I came back in and told Bill my car wouldn't start. It worked well because he couldn't see my face as I was telling him about the car. He asked questions and I tried to answer but was laughing inside. He got ready as well and I stayed in the back because I couldn't keep from smiling. He picked up my keys and walked outside and VARROOOOMMMMM!!!! Car started right up! :) I hear him say, "BAAAAABBBEEE, Your car started right up?"

"Oh it did......." I began to laugh and started smiling and I told him April Fools!!!! He started laughing and said that he couldn't remember the last time someone had got him. I told him he had the entire day to try to get me back. I got to be on my toes all day long. HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!!!
