1st Grade Bound

Gavin headed off to 1st grade today. Can't believe the changes in him since attending "big school". He was tying his own shoes today.
Teeth brushed and out the door. Last year when we took him he had a crying moment. Not today... he left us in the dust and headed on in.

Exercise, Exercise, Exercise!!!!

That is exactly what I have been up to lately. I caught the bug. I just felt like I want to work out so bad but just don't I come up with every excuse not to and I was totally fed up with myself. When I started to blog it was because I read all these running blogs. Now everyone has kids and still exercising and I am the only one sitting on the sideline.

So last Saturday in the car I convinced myself that I was going to exercise EVERY day. I didn't care if it was 5 minutes or 500 minutes but I was going to do it. Since last Saturday I have worked out everyday but Friday night. YUP that's right folks..... 8 outta 9 days here. I am so sore every day and my back and neck are still in pain all the time but I am pushing through it.

I am having a blast at my new activities. I am playing tennis, mountain biking, swimming, walking, running and a little P90X. I am not doing this to lose weight but simple have my body feel a little better. WAIT WAIT WAIT.... let's be honest. I don't think I would be exercising if I didn't want to lose some weight, right? Yeah..... I could totally stand to lose a little in the "pooch" area and then tighten up my nasty love handles.

OOOhhhhh and by the way..... My friend and I are committed to ROCK N ROLL SA HALF MARATHON IN NOVEMBER!!!!! Can't wait.... Happy Training!!

Trip to see Amy and Brad

We headed up late Friday night for a quick visit with Amy and Brad. They just had a new beautiful baby girl.  It was the perfect excuse to get out of SA, see some good friends, and of course hold a newborn. So we got there late Friday and stopped for a quick visit and then we were off to the hotel. KK slept horrible but we got up and headed to breakfast. We went to a "hole-in-the-wall" that was DELICIOUS!!! I had the best french toast ever!! So yummy!!
We then headed to the park. The boys had a blast feeding the ducks. Timmy was having a ball.

This was the first time Timmy and KK have been together for a play date. Timmy is 2.5. They played like champs. Timmy was so sweet and gave Kiernan a hug and a kiss. He let KK play with all his toys at the house and was just such a sweet little boy.
 Then we found the playground.
Kiernan and Timmy were all over the place. Kiernan really likes to try to go up the slides.
Timmy had fun going between Brad and Bill on the glider.
Here is their sweet little family. Katherine is hiding in the carrier.
Kiernan then got tired like the rest of us and decided to lay down in the shade on the concrete. Whatever works son!
We then went back to the house and hung out and ate. I of course had to do a small photo shoot of baby Katherine. She was so sweet the whole time. She is going to keep up with these boys just fine.
It was a quick trip but very happy we got to visit and see baby K.

SPI

Blogging in the summertime is HARD!!! Every time I think I will sit down and write, I get side tracked. We headed down to South Padre for one last family vacation. We got down there and headed out for a bike ride and to catch the firework show. Rocco and Kiernan went for a ride in the buggy.
Roy was their special driver. Although this picture doesn't show it they were having a blast.
Jillian had to explain to KK what fireworks are. He nodded in agreement.
We visited a turtle rescue facility. We saw tiny turtles and also huge turtles. My boys were all about the turtles. We were even able to get Kiernan to say turtle.
Turtles get hurt the most by human trash that is left on the beaches and end up in the water. So sad!! Come on people...... PICK UP YOUR TRASH!!!
We stayed at the KOA which had lots of fun facilities including the playground. But boy it sure does make the adults tired. Chillin in the much needed shade.

We ventured over to Port Isabel to check out the light house. Mom and I stayed down with the babies. Hadleigh and KK were all over the place.
But the older kids found their way to the top. They said it was about a thousand degrees in there. I think I am glad I stayed on the bottom.
We also went fishing on the pier. The kids caught all sorts of different fish. That is my favorite part about fishing in the salt water. You just never know what your going to catch. They caught a lady fish, perch, snapper and some striped fish maybe a drum.
Finally we took tons of pictures on the beach. I hope someday we get a phone call from one of the children's clothes vendors for our kids to model in their magazine. You can't get much cuter than this. I would buy the clothes if I saw them in a spread. Maybe I am a little bias.
My sweet baby boy on the pier.
 Classic beach shot.
 Love these boys.
I will try to do better on my blogging. I think once school starts I can be more regular.
