As most of you know on April 29, my dog Mudge went missing down at the coast while we were on vacation. The cabin back door was left open while we went to the Pizza place to eat. When we got back Boo was in the yard but Mudge was gone. We searched up and down every street but couldn't find her. The trip was horrible and we were in the worst moods ever. We had to come back for school and work. We all kept praying about her but we soon gave up hope. I just prayed she was in a good home and was being spoiled.
Then on May 10th we got a call from a family that was on their first day on vacation and Mudge came hobbling out and began to follow them while they were on their walk. She wouldn't come up to them so he went and found some food and she finally came close enough for them to get her collar off and that is when we got the call. WE BOLTED DOWN TO PORT A!!!!

We picked her up and she was in pretty bad shape. She couldn't walk on her back legs. She was covered in flees and ticks and her coat was soaked. She slept next to her sister the whole way back.

At 8:00am I called the vet and they wanted to see her right away. I got her up there by 8:30am and they checked her out. He didn't see any fractures in her legs but wanted to keep her for the day for observation. When I finally got to pick her up, she was doing much better. They had dipped her and gave her lots of medicine and he wants me to give her meds and call him back on Tuesday. She is doing so good. Her personality is very much the same. Her mind thinks she can go faster than her legs but everyday I think they are getting stronger.
If you want to be totally grossed out google gulf coast tick and check it out. We had to do some surgery on her in the front yard and get one off of her. It was like the size of a dime. TOTALLY GROSS!!! I just changed her bed and found another one dead. I hope all these nasty things get off of her and she returns to normal. She is such a trooper. I do think she couldn't go much longer. So glad she found someone so nice that was willing to help her find us again.
