Astros WIN and lose

We took a mini vacation with my parents to watch the Astros play. We felt they needed a little better luck this season and we thought we could be just that. We got down there on Saturday and headed to the ball park. We found Biggio's statue and had to take a picture. This first game went awesome. The Stros got out to a great first inning and never looked back. We were hitting, fielding and just doing our thing. We headed back after the win and got our hotel room upgraded to a corner suite. It was soooo nice. Look how close we were to the stadium.

We went back on Sunday and it was little league day at the park and so all the kids got to walk down on the field. We walked again around the park and checked things out.

But the Astros did not do so well this time around. They stared off great and then the wheels feel off when the batter popped it up to the pitcher's mound and three guys went for it and the ground caught it.

The lovely mom and dad.

We talked a lot about this could be our last trip as a foursome. We will never have a kidless trip again. It was fun while it lasted!!

SIGNS OUT!!!!

When I was growing up I wanted to be in patrols sooooo bad. But unfortunately my behavior was not so great so I was not included. I think Ash, Bryan and Bill were all in patrols. UGH!!! Well this little 5th grade is also a patrol. He takes his job very seriously and doesn't like to miss for any reason. I normally pick him up from school and I always just wait at the end until he is done and then I get in line and grab him and we go. But in the last month he has been promoted to CAPTAIN!!! This means he has to be the last one out of the patrol room and make sure everything is in order. He also takes this very seriously so he is coming out later and later. This particular afternoon was taking especially longer than normal. Finally all of the teachers started to go inside so I felt like I needed to go search for Roy. I walked into the patrol room and the sponsor has a clip board and is speaking to Roy. I ask, "Is he in trouble?" THANK GOODNESS...... she said oh no Is this your son? He is an amazing kid and just does his job so well. My heart came back into my chest and began beating normal again. She said what a wonderful job he does. There was a kid horse playing and Roy wrote him up and she was very impressed with that. I was too!!!! So finally the conversation came to an end with the sponsor telling Roy he would remain in the Captain position until the end of the school year instead of passing the responsibilities on to another student. WOW!!! That is the kind of thing that doesn't happen every day. Way to Go Roy!!!

Must Love Dogs

As most of you know on April 29, my dog Mudge went missing down at the coast while we were on vacation. The cabin back door was left open while we went to the Pizza place to eat. When we got back Boo was in the yard but Mudge was gone. We searched up and down every street but couldn't find her. The trip was horrible and we were in the worst moods ever. We had to come back for school and work. We all kept praying about her but we soon gave up hope. I just prayed she was in a good home and was being spoiled.

Then on May 10th we got a call from a family that was on their first day on vacation and Mudge came hobbling out and began to follow them while they were on their walk. She wouldn't come up to them so he went and found some food and she finally came close enough for them to get her collar off and that is when we got the call. WE BOLTED DOWN TO PORT A!!!!
We picked her up and she was in pretty bad shape. She couldn't walk on her back legs. She was covered in flees and ticks and her coat was soaked. She slept next to her sister the whole way back.

At 8:00am I called the vet and they wanted to see her right away. I got her up there by 8:30am and they checked her out. He didn't see any fractures in her legs but wanted to keep her for the day for observation. When I finally got to pick her up, she was doing much better. They had dipped her and gave her lots of medicine and he wants me to give her meds and call him back on Tuesday. She is doing so good. Her personality is very much the same. Her mind thinks she can go faster than her legs but everyday I think they are getting stronger.

If you want to be totally grossed out google gulf coast tick and check it out. We had to do some surgery on her in the front yard and get one off of her. It was like the size of a dime. TOTALLY GROSS!!! I just changed her bed and found another one dead. I hope all these nasty things get off of her and she returns to normal. She is such a trooper. I do think she couldn't go much longer. So glad she found someone so nice that was willing to help her find us again.

Baby Shower

Easter weekend was my baby shower. It was decorated with the Easter theme in mind. The same three ladies that hosted my wedding shower hosted my baby shower and it was in that exact same location. It was just perfect. The food was absolutely delicious. King Ranch casserole and the 7 layer dip were amazing.

My walking partner that has kept in such great shape and helped me keep a small belly. She is on a weight loss journey and is doing fantastic. 27 lbs and counting. Can't wait to get back after it once the baby is born.
I go to bible study on Wednesday nights and these are two amazing Christian woman that have come into my life and are such a blessing to me. I cannot thank them enough for coming.

My dad side had a great turn out.

And my mom's side all the way from Devine....

Here are the wonderful hostesses. If you ever need a party planned, I highly recommend these ladies. Just a fabulous detailed job. They make everything so special and personal.

And of course to save the best for last. My mom, sister and precious nieces. I am so blessed with them in my life. They are great role models for me to follow. They are coaching me through the whole process and are spoiling my baby boy!!! And finally Mrs. Jan made this adorable diaper wreath. I think this will be hung on the nursery door.

Finally showing.....

And out of no where there came this massive bump. I can't believe how quickly my body started to change in the last two weeks. I halted all manual labor that I normally do. It seems I am finally going to have to start taking it a little easier on my body until he is born. I actually got to play golf this week. Yes 32 weeks and playing golf. It felt great and no soreness at all. I think it is because I shot a 92 and Bill shot a 93. I still got it!!!

Life is a changing and it is beginning to be more real that in a few more weeks we will have a little one in the house. It was been awhile since we changed diapers. Guess we will figure it out. We are suppose to paint his room this week. I am ready to get the nursery done.
