Summer Fun!!

Aunt Ashley was a total savior last week. She had all four kids and had the task of getting them to and from VBS and then holding down the fort in the afternoon. THANKS ASHLEY!!!! The boys had a great second week with us. Gavin is extremely afraid of the water and started out very timid but by day two he was swimming all over the place with only his floaties. I am hoping by the end of the summer he will let go of his fears because we are a water loving family! On Tuesday, their cousin Katie came for a swim. Both boys LOVE their cousin Katie!
Then my cousin Kim came down for dinner and fun n the pool with her two kids.
On Friday, I was able to go to the end send off at VBS. The sanctuary was turned into the High Seas and there was a huge boat at the front. The kids were singing and clapping and having so much fun. VBS was a success!! Gavin loved it and although Roy is too old to attend next year, he asked if he could help out and volunteer.
On Saturday, we headed out super early to the Carrabba's Half Marathon Relay. We had tons of fun and were all a little sore afterwards. We each ran about 3.5 miles. Bill ran the most because he also ran Roy's leg with him. Roy did an excellent job. (That's me in white in the center)
Here is the tired, hungry and ready to get home family!! My mom and dad were troopers to come with us and watch Gavin while we ran. They are the best!!
Finally, the boys celebrated Father's Day with their daddy. They love when I pull out the camera for the perfect photo opt moment.
We headed to church. Gavin went up at children's time to sing his song from VBS. He was a little shy but did a great job!!
Now we have a two week break and then off to ATLANTA!!!!

LPGA Here I Come....

On Wednesday I got to play in a golf tournament with my dad. It was so much fun. We were worried about the weather but it never put a stop to the day. We didn't play very good and my irons were way off. My drive on the other hand was perfect. I was hitting it long and straight. We were playing best ball and we kept using my drive. I was out driving the guys by twenty yards. Well yes they do hit farther back than me but who cares about that!! They had a contest on the 10th tee for the women's longest drive. I was so nervous because I never hit it that good when I know which hole the contest is on.

But I stepped up to the tee box and smacked it. It went a little left but I felt like it was curving towards the fairway. Dad and I thought it was hit well so we took off to look. And as we approached this is what we saw... I would say that is about two feet further. YAY!!!!!!!!

I signed my named and hoped that no one else could rip one like that.

Turns out no one I did. They called my name out and I won a free round of golf!! It was a great day on the course! :)

Basketball Finale

Roy's basketball team had a end of season double elimination tournament. They won all their games except the championship game. The other team had one really good player that made all the difference. Roy had a lot of fun and got much better as the season went on. He was very upset after losing but he got a 2nd place medal. Yes that is Roy in the middle acting coolio. They were a sweet group. We are not sure if we are going to play the second season of summer. We may want to use the rest of the summer to go to the coast and Dallas. But he will definitely play again in the fall.
Finally Spurs Camp came to an end of Friday. Roy was sad but had tons of fun. The best part of the camp was when George Hill came and talked to the campers. He took the time to sign an autograph picture for every camper.
There was tons of press there and he had to give an interview. He was all over the news that night.
I was able to get there just in time when Roy was going up to get his autograph so I got to snap their picture. This MADE Roy's day, week and maybe even his year. GO SPURS GO!!

His treasure.....

This weekend we are busy at work on the outside of the house. Mom and Dad bought us two new trees and some pretty flowers. I am so excited. Gives the house some curb appeal. Plus hopefully in ten years we can enjoy some shade. Maybe a movie this afternoon too!
Sunday will be full of packing and helping move Ashley and Bryan. The time is almost here. I can't wait so that I can get my normal sister back. She is STRESSED OUT!!

Spurs Camp

Bill and I signed Roy up for Spurs Camp. It was the best decision we ever made. When I went to pick him up yesterday he comes over to me and says, "This place is awesome!" And for those of you who know Roy to get him to say something like that is very rare. He is kind of quiet and just goes along with the flow. Now he definitely tells you what he doesn't like but when he likes something he just chills. He met a new friend there that he talked about all night. He even got the award for Camper of the Day. He got a neat poster of the Spurs starting 5. He really seems to like basketball and of course that makes me smile from ear to ear. I want to teach him everything that I know but I know I have to do it in moderation. Normally Roy is a little tough to get out of bed but this morning he was ready for day 2 of camp. I am so thankful that he likes it!

Both boys are with us for about two and a half weeks and it has been a joy to have them around the house. Although the house looks like a bomb went off and they steal my towels from the bathroom everyday, I wouldn't change it for the world. They are such sweet cutie patooties!!

Now all I need to get a grasp on is cooking for four every night. Hadn't quite mastered that one. I am a terrible cook and my ideas for dinner struggle. I think it is because I want to be half way healthy. It is always harder to think of nutritional dinners that everyone will actually like. *Sigh...
