I have not mastered this at all. I don't have a routine and he sleeps where I can get him to go down. In the first weeks of his life I couldn't sleep with him at all. I was miserable and so was he. I then tried a
bassinet. I COULD NOT get him to sleep there.
Kiernan had a lot of tummy issues and so laying down was just not comfortable. He liked to sit up and sleep. If not for the little vibrating bouncy seat we might not have survived. The other place where
KK is perfect is in his car seat. He rarely makes a peep. So now that he is seven weeks old I am putting him in this sleeper outfit. He is ready for bed.

This is the sleeping furniture of choice for
KK. It sits right next to my bed and we actually have a great night routine once he is down. I pick him at at around 1:30am and nurse him for 10 minutes and then put him right back in the seat. Then he wakes again around 5:30am and I nurse for 10 minutes and put him back down. Those are the two times that seem to go perfectly smooth. Everything else is a mess.

He sometimes face plants on our bed.

The motion of the swing is
definitely a favorite too.

One thing I love about him is his hands. He is very
dainty with them and always has them around his face. Just like in the sonograms. Guess he is a little camera shy.

This week I decided to try and put him in his crib for his morning nap. It went terrible. He didn't sleep at all. I finally got him to go down around 10:15am. I think I went and checked on his three times before 10:30am. Then of course he was up at 11:30am. He is not a deep sleeper at all.

I will figure this out sooner or later, right? I will say that if his nights were as hard as his days, his mommy would be struggling. I tried to get him down around 7:30pm tonight. Had him dead asleep and of course lost it on the transfer. Bill got him and has him in the other room. I hadn't heard a peep while I write this post. :)
I hope he gets used to sleeping in a bed soon, especially since they don't make car seats for big boys. Could you imagine if they did? We wouldn't be able to get our husbands out of them! ;)
